UGANDA
GORILLA SAFARIS
Welcome to Uganda,
The "pearl of Africa" and the source of the mighty river
Nile. Although Uganda is best known for its gorilla, the country
is the richest for birds in Africa. A record of 1005 bird species
has not been identified, ranging from the highland bird specialties
which include the African green broad bill in Bwindi to the lowland
and water birds which include the African fin foot at Lake Mburo.
Mountain gorillas
are endangered species. Today there are only an estimated 650 Mountain
Gorillas remaining, half of which are located in the Bwindi Impenetrable
forest in Uganda.
Gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
has been described as the most profound natural history experiences
in the world and the park has been designated a World Heritage Site.
During your visit
to Uganda, a day spent in Kibale Forest searching for chimpanzee,
one of man's closest relative is well worth your, and so is Queen
Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's most popular game reserve and
certainly one most scenic.
